Cupping Therapy: An Ancient Practice for Modern Wellness
Cupping therapy is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine & has been used for thousands of years to treat all kinds of issues. Cupping helps with numerous ailments ranging from back & neck pain to depression & anxiety. It can even help with even fertility. Cupping technique involves placing cups on the skin to create suction, which helps improve blood flow, reduce pain, & promote healing.
Cupping works by creating a vacuum effect that draws blood to the surface of the skin, increasing circulation & breaking up stagnant energy. This process can help alleviate muscle tension, reduce inflammation & boost the immune system. Other benefits of cupping include easing pain caused by muscle strain, overuse, or injury, helping your skin feel brighter, supporting respiratory health, & managing arthritis. You might even find yourself having a spiritual awakening after a cupping session. All of this & more makes it a popular choice for those seeking natural healing massage therapies.
“Ease pain, brighten your skin, support your respiratory health, manage arthritis & more with cupping therapy. ”
Understanding Cupping Marks
Cupping marks, often mistaken for bruises, are a normal part of the therapy & indicate the level of stagnation or blockage in the area. The color & intensity of the marks can provide insight into your body’s condition:
Light Pink Marks: Indicate mild stagnation & are usually a sign of good health.
Red to Dark Purple Marks: Suggest deeper stagnation & blockage. These marks are more common in areas with chronic pain or tight muscles.
Duration of Marks: The marks typically fade within a few days to a week, depending on the individual’s health & the level of stagnation.
Cupping Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential to maximize the benefits of cupping & support the body’s healing process. Here are some tips for post-cupping care:
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins & support lymphatic drainage. Also be aware that cupping will reduce your alcohol limit.
Avoid Strenuous Activities: Give your body time to rest & recover after a cupping session.
Keep the Cupped Areas Warm: Avoid exposing the cupped areas to cold temperatures to support blood flow & healing.
Avoid Showering Right Away: Wait at least a few hours before taking a shower to allow the skin to recover.

Discover the Bliss of Hot Stone Massages
If you've ever wondered, "What is stone massage?" or have been looking for the perfect "hot stone massage near me," we've got all the answers you need.
Hot Stone Massage is a therapeutic technique where smooth, heated stones are placed on key points of the body. Our skilled massage therapists may also use the stones as tools to massage your muscles, enhancing the therapeutic benefits. These massage stones are often made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat exceptionally well. The warmth of the stones penetrates deep into the muscles, promoting relaxation, easing tension, & enhancing overall well-being. The session typically begins with a traditional massage to warm up the muscles, followed by the application of the hot stones.
The benefits of hot stone massage are plentiful. Here are just a few reasons to book your session:
Deep Muscle Relaxation: Let that back & neck pain melt away as the heat from the stones helps muscles relax more deeply, allowing for a more effective massage.
Improved Circulation: The warmth increases blood flow, which can aid in healing & reduce inflammation.
Stress & Anxiety Relief: The soothing nature of hot stone massages can significantly reduce stress & anxiety levels.
Pain Relief: Ideal for those suffering from chronic pain, arthritis, or fibromyalgia, hot stone massages offer targeted pain relief.
Enhanced Sleep Quality: The deep relaxation achieved can improve sleep patterns & combat insomnia.

Mid Experience
Erin has been working as an Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) since 2009 & is grateful for the rewarding work she has the opportunity to do. She entered the massage program at Northwestern College in Chicago, having never received a massage herself, but has been in love with therapeutic bodywork ever since. Even before her training she was sensitive to the lack of human touch so many of us experience, & is thrilled to be able to connect with & offer comfort to so many people.
Erin’s work is slow & attentive, giving the body time & space to unravel at its own pace. Blending a mix of therapeutic relaxation, deep tissue, myofascial release, & Thai massage techniques, she aims to bring some stillness to the mind while bringing movement back into the body. She is also enthusiastic about hot stone, pre & post natal massage, & enjoys any opportunity for detailed scalp or abdominal work.
Erin views her work as a therapeutic art form, with a focus on flow, quality of touch & listening. She strives to make each session a unique healing experience that leaves one feeling more grounded & at ease in their body.
Hannah’s (she/her) life & work have been dedicated to study of the mind-body-spirit connection & the human ability to heal. She graduated from the New School for Massage, Bodywork, & Healing in Chicago, allowing her to integrate mental health knowledge with knowledge of the body.
Now Hannah creates a trauma-informed therapeutic space where your mind can rest & your body can mend. She specializes in a combination of Swedish relaxation, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, & Thai massage techniques. She also has experience in pre & post natal massage, Reiki energy, & working on clients with chronic pain. Her goal with each session is to use the combination of pressure & techniques that work best for each client to create a pocket of grace & ease in which root causes can be addressed within the body.
Hannah feels joy & gratitude each day as a body & energy worker & loves having the opportunity to serve clients at Intuit Healing.

Elaine (she/her) has always felt passionate about supporting & empowering others’ health & well-being. Her fascination with understanding thinking, feelings & emotions on a deeper level led her to study psychology in college. Upon graduating, Elaine experienced physical health issues that were approached & treated with solutions based on the symptoms versus the root cause. She felt more could be done & that treating the symptoms was only scratching the surface. This led Elaine to explore various avenues of solutions to holistic health such as holistic nutrition, meditation & massage. Through this, Elaine learned two important components, one is that there are many different factors that contribute to health & well-being, & the other is that the mind & body are interconnected. With this knowledge, Elaine was intrigued to learn more about the body, how the two interconnect, & how therapeutic touch can help heal both. Elaine graduated from the massage therapy program at Pacific College of Health & Science, which comprised of eastern & western massage therapy techniques. This enhanced Elaine’s ability to provide holistic healing to others. Through massage therapy, Elaine strives for each person to be able to experience exactly what they need in the moment to feel safe & physically & mentally at ease.
