Inside the therapy room I use proven therapy techniques and a supportive, non-judgmental style to help clients move forward and grow. I help adults struggling with mood issues, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, attachment issues, and trauma by providing behavioral centered techniques that facilitate long-term outcomes.

When working with clients, I utilize an eclectic approach that includes CBT, Narrative Therapy, ACT, and Exposure and Response Prevention to help clients overcome challenges and accomplish goals. Across my career I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including outpatient private practice, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and crisis settings.

I tailor methods to meet individual needs. I invite clients to explore their inner narratives, confront unhealthy patterns, and address compromised self-concepts, paving the way for self-discovery, resilience, and meaningful change. When not at work, I enjoy cozying up with a good book, walks by the lake, or catching up on the latest episode of dateline.

Stress and anxiety can really do a number on many aspects of our lives, including our physical health, our mental health, and our relationships with those around us. I help people who want to feel more confident in their everyday life choices as well as those big life decisions, but who feel suffocated by responsibility and other perceived limits. I will support you in taking control of your life so you can advance confidently through life’s tough chapters and be better prepared to take on what’s next.

In sessions I will pull from cognitive behavioral therapy, utilizing a strengths-based and trauma-focused approach. I will help you identify the patterns that are keeping you from getting unstuck and moving forward. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I received my Master’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago and my Bachelor’s degree in musical theater performance from Columbia College Chicago.

I have two canine fur-babies, and I love spending time with them in our beautiful nearby forest preserves. I love to garden and read, and I spend a lot of time at the gym with my “fit family.” My other loves are traveling and learning about other cultures. There is truly so much we can learn from each other.

I am down to earth and bring humor into our sessions when appropriate. Therapy doesn’t have to be something you dread! I am here to find where we can add some joy back into your life. I hope you will schedule a consultation with me to see if we would be a good fit!

Everyone deserves to live a meaningful life, no matter what we have experienced or where we may come from. Therapy can be a great place to explore your values, beliefs, & attitudes, & examine how you might reorient those concepts to align with your authentic self. My clients are the experts on their own lives, and I am here to facilitate your exploration of yourself, others, & your worldview to find meaning in life. I have worked in community mental health for six years, & I focus on trauma-informed care for those with complex trauma histories, specializing in complex trauma, grief, & existential concerns as a therapist.

As an existential-humanistic therapist, I aim to guide you in exploring what it means to be human & take responsibility for your life. I am trauma-informed & person-centered, ensuring therapy sessions are led by your pace in a way that feels safe to you, with goals aligned with your hopes & needs. As a divorced, cisgender, LGBTQ woman living with a chronic illness, I recognize & affirm your intersecting identities, while understanding I can never know your experiences firsthand. I enjoy using humor, creative interventions, & a holistic mind-body approach in my therapy sessions. I believe in the healing power of nature, animals, & movement in mental healthcare.
