Intentional Pottery: Creating safe containers

  • Intuit Healing 2514 West Armitage Avenue, #211 Chicago, IL, 60647 United States (map)

Through mindful hand-building techniques, you’ll shape clay into a unique container that symbolizes your emotional safe space. We’ll begin with a short reflective meditation and visualization to connect with the container that creates a protective barrier between you and your challenging thoughts or feelings. As you mold and shape your piece, you’ll be invited to work with intention—borrowing techniques often used in EMDR and other forms of trauma therapy to create a safe place to contain our distress, increasing our sense of control over difficult emotions.

No prior pottery experience is needed. Just bring your hands and the willingness to explore.

You’ll leave with:

  • A finished, fired ceramic container (available for pickup 2 weeks after the workshop)

  • A deeper connection to your emotions through creative process

  • A new appreciation for clay as a medium for self-expression and healing

This workshop is open to adults of all experience levels and is ideal for anyone seeking a creative and gentle way to process, hold, or express what they’re feeling.

**Class attendees will first meet upstairs in the Intuit space for a guided meditation.

No refunds or date transfers 48 hours before your workshop date. There are no refunds for damaged, lost, or discarded pottery. This workshop has a minimum of 4 students.
